nigao 65 feeds €74.31/year

Hello

It's Trystan Lea here from OpenEnergyMonitor. I'm emailing you because you have an account on emoncms.org. You may be aware that we are working towards adding a pay-per-feed model for emoncms.org in order to fund server costs, maintenance and development.

Emoncms.org has grown significantly over the past few years. Significant investment in server storage, processing and development time will be required in the coming years to continue scaling to meet demand. Hence the need now to introduce billing to emoncms.org.

Although not completely finalised, the pay-per-feed model will likely be £1/feed/year. If you buy or have bought hardware from the OpenEnergyMonitor shop your emoncms.org account will be credited based on a percentage of total historic order spend, e.g a full EmonPi costing £153 will result in £31 (20%) of emoncms.org credit providing 5 years of free use for 6 feeds.

When you login to your emoncms.org accounts you will see projected costs and account balance over time shown on the My Account page. We aim to start billing on the 1st of July 2018 and costs accumulated between now and then will be reset at that point. Credit associated with past orders will be applied in full at this time following OpenEnergyMonitor shop email address verification.

We realise that a payment model will not work for everyone and are glad to say emoncms is fully open source and can be self-hosted, see the emoncms github repository. Our EmonPi and EmonBase energy monitors also come with emoncms pre-installed for easy local logging free of charge. Data export is possible using a backup script. We will be working to simplify this process over the coming weeks by improving the sync module.
